Greenberg David M. Greenberg, 78, beloved husband of the late Arlene Greenberg, nee Harris and the late Sandy Weitzner Greenberg; loving father of Alan (Suzanne) and Adam (Antonette); cherished and devoted Zayde of Tiffany, Samantha, Brian, Benjamin, Courtney and Ashley; proud great grandfather of Michael; dear brother of Sally (Nathan) Berg and Benita Satzman; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. Chapel service Monday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Greenberg, of Glenview, IL and recently of Midland, MI, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2012. He was born on January 2, 1934 in Rock Island, IL. David was the beloved husband of the late Arlene Greenberg, nee Harris and the late Sandy Weitzner Greenberg; loving father of Alan (Suzanne) and Adam (Antonette); cherished and devoted Zayde of Tiffany, Samantha, Brian, Benjamin, Courtney and Ashley; proud great grandfather of Michael; dear brother of Sally (Nathan) Berg and Benita Satzman; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. David was a proud Army Veteran. He was a Sergeant who went on to achieve Honorary Brigadier General status by serving as a Judge for Military Culinary Awards. David’s passion for food started as a graduate from Washburn Trade School in Culinary Arts. For most of his career, he was the Food Service Administrator for several Chicagoland hospitals and was an owner of DJ’s Catering. David was a past officer of IFSEA and Past President of NIFSEA.
