Mark was a friend and colleague. Mark assisted my clients with his expert knowledge of complex technology. He worked hard and was willing to stay late and help on weekends, when necessary, to get the job done. He enjoyed public service and shared his skills and talents with many charitable and not-for-profit organizations. As my friend, Mark and I enjoyed talks about shared interests over lunch. Mark made a difference when people needed help. I will miss him. Rest in peace, my friend.

On behalf of the North Shore Radio Club, we express our deepest condolences. Mark was a very strong support of this club for many, many years. We benefited from his computer expertise countless ways, as ham radio merged with computing technology. He also supported our early Web experiences, hosting our web site and securing our public domain name. We worked closely with him on a number of public service projects including the Chicago Marathon. He created a ham radio organization in Northbrook to help the local fire department in times of major communication disruptions. He founded and led NIARS, Northern Illinois Amateur Radio Service. This group laid the foundation for strong relationship with Northbrook emergency services, which continues to this day.
We will miss his quick wit and sharp mind. He was everything a ham radio operator should aspire to be: curious, willing to learn, community minded and friendly.
