Back in the heady days of the ’80s I met Mindy as a waitress at a bar in Elmhurst as I was in bands playing out there. I always remember the high cutoffs and fishnet stockings she wore, like it was her fashion “thing” at the bar. My gods we had fun back then. Friends throughout the years…. I still have her voicemail to me telling me she had moved back (into hospice). I went and visited her…she hated that I saw her the way she was….it didn’t matter, she was my Mindy. I crawled onto the bed and lay with her for a long while, let her know nothing had changed and that I loved her dearly. Today I raise a toast to you, Mindy. You were the sweetest thing and I carry your memory in my heart forever

Mindy,
You and I shared wonderful memories. Driving in your pinto during the Steve Dahl disco demolition. Going to the disco’s front entrance shouting “Disco sucks.”
You, Ann, and I had so much fun dancing to many bands even the way you danced was fun. You didn’t intoxicate yourself to have a good time.
Until we meet again remember I love you!!

My dear friend,
What a journey you have just endured and I feel very blessed that I was able to be with you along the way! You were stronger than you even realized! You had so many “angels” caring for you with the utmost care, compassion and love and now you have reached a place, where the angels continue to watch over you!
Some day, I will see you again my friend but until then, I will sign off with my usual parting words to you…I LOVE YOU!

I have so many fond memories of Mindy. She was the best shopping & festival companion. She had a wonderful laugh & a great sense of humor. We use to enjoy having breakfasts & dinners together with Linda Ellis. Mindy enjoyed the holidays. She use to leave me a stocking filled with goodies at my door every Xmas morning. My heart is heavy thinking of her no longer with us but I know she is no longer suffering & that eases my sorrow. My deepest condolences to Gloria, AJ, Andee, Jeff and the entire Jankofsky & Hunt family for their loss. I will cherish my memories of my friend, Mindy. May she rest in peace. Love, Joanne
