I am Peter Glassman, Lois’s second cousin through her marriage to Seymour. My mother was Betty Glassman (nee Kleps), her mother was Sarah Kleps (nee Orinsky), and Sarah Kleps had a brother, Charles Morris. (I am not sure how and when Orinsky became Morris). Charles Morris was Seymour’s father and my mother’s uncle, my great uncle. Seymour and I lived in the same apartment building in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago n the 1950’s and early 60’s, my family was on the second floor, Seymour and his parents Charles and Rebecca were on the third floor. So I have literally known Seymour my entire life. I remember trying to fix him up with one of my elementary school teachers but that did not work out. I was 9 years old when Seymour and Lois got married, I have an old black and white photo of me taken at their wedding (I am now 63). Unfortunately I lost touch with the family for many years and I regret missing out on a lot of family events. Several years ago I reconnected and I was able to see Lois a few times. Lois was always nice to me and my wives (wife #1 and wife #2). I am truly saddened by Seymour’s loss. Seymour, take comfort in the fact that you and Lois were happy for so many years, an achievement that most people do not realize.

After playing poker together for over 40 odd years, I’ll always remember Lois’ favorite games–follow the ace and deuces wild. But most of all my most favorite luncheon that she made was lox and bagel and her most delicious kugel. She will be missed terribly
