Obituary

Rhoda Rose Rockowitz, nee Meyer, passed away days shy of her 89th birthday, wife of the late Herman “Rocky” “Pennock” Rockowitz, loving mother of Lynne (Roy) Vaughn, Shelley Clark (Greg) Rimoldi and Deena Rockowitz (Tim) Johnson; especially wonderful grandma of Dawn Glaser Howlett, Jason Glaser, Miyuri Glaser and Brian, Daniel and Andrea Clark; cherished Nonni of Alex Vaughn, Kei, Kou and Liyah Glaser, Savannah Williams, Scott Shawn and Samantha Howlett and great-great grandmother of Nessa Howlett; dear sister of the late Geri Meyer, Esther Schatz and Sydney Meyer; special grandma to granddoggies Diamond and Pearl; treasured aunt, cousin and friend of many. Chapel service Wednesday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Rhoda was always a friendly neighbor. I first met her at the swimming pool. She told me about her daughter, Deena. At that time, Deena was coming to Chicago to interview with United Airlines. Since then, Deena has been a very close friend. So thank you Rhoda for introducing us.
