Elyse Molly Greenberg

All of us – Nick, Rachel, Danielle and I – were terribly saddened to hear of your devastating loss. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Our family will always remember Elyse as the beautiful, lively, fun-loving, affectionate girl who was a best friend to our daughter Rachel during their junior high years. Though the two grew apart after that phase of their lives (in large measure because of the serious health crisis which confronted our then-13 year old daughter and consumed all of our attention for a long period), the warm memories of Elyse remain.

She was a large presence in our lives for those years during which she and Rachel were close. When we planned a vacation in South Haven, Michigan, it was important that Elyse join us to share in the fun – all still remember the good time we had together and how much the girls enjoyed the beach-centered vacation (and we recall, too, the minor mischief the kids got into – like climbing through the cottage’s window when the door was inconveniently locked!). Your family also was very kind to our daughter and included her in your family activities, like the time Sam (and Marilyn?) stalwartly accompanied the kids to some all-day mega music festival in near 100 degree summer heat! Or the several occasions that the girls “went to work with Dad” and Rachel would report what a great day she and Elyse had hanging out at the store. Or Marilyn taking the girls for recreational swims at the pool club you belonged to.

I am sure there are many more happy reminiscences of your daughter that could be recounted. Our family had the good fortune to know her well and to be enriched for a time by her sparkling personality. Elyse was a very special person that will be missed by all who knew her.
