Steve came to work at the golf course while I was still working there and he and I got along famously. He had so many stories about his previous life before the golf course that I really enjoyed. I looked forward to see him every season. I was sad to hear of his passing. Hope he rests in peace. Bill Clinkert

Over the years, Steve and I spent valuable time together, despite the fact we lived so far apart. He was a real guy; and he and I enjoyed playing golf together and even shared a slightly sarcastic view of the world and the Cubs. I loved him and his entire family; we were all very close.

Sadly, my life kept me from seeing him for a long time, and although I moved much closer to the family, six months ago, I have been overwhelmed by the move, and was not able to contact the family since then. And now, I must leave for my grandson’s birthday in Denver, just as the funeral takes place. I will try to contact you, when I return. Love, and sad wishes, Merwyn
