Lillian Margolis nee Marcus, 94; beloved wife of the late Irving Margolis and the late Trevor Gelick; loving mother of Marlene (Marshall) Hirshman, Harvey (Nancy) Margolis and Ronald Margolis; proud grandma of Neil (Beth) Hirshman, Marc (Karen) Hirshman, Pam (David) Zlotnik, Heather (Glen) Schwaber, Brad (Ariel) Margolis, Amy (Eric) Ludwig and Aaron Margolis; adoring “gg” of 16 great-grandchildren; special Lillian to Michael (Eileen) Gelick and Jeffrey (Joyce) Gelick; cherished sister of the late Rebecca (the late Sidney) Schonberger and the late Sameus (Margie) Marcus and sister-in-law of the late Charles (the late Sylvia) Shechtman; dear aunt and great-aunt of many. Lillian worked as a librarian for the CPS, was a very involved community member and an activist against social injustice. She was a recipient of the National Council of Jewish Women Hannah G. Solomon Award for lifetime service to the community. Chapel service Friday, 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
