Nancy Ohl, nee Kaplan, 74, beloved wife of Peter Foss; loving mother of Jennifer Ohl (Noam Alperin) and Abby Ohl (Arthur Ellis); cherished grandmother of Avery and Ari; devoted daughter of the late George and Etta Kaplan; dear sister of Claire (David) Krantz and Peter (Carol) Kaplan; treasured aunt and friend to many. At a time when women were mostly relegated to the home, Nancy was a trailblazer, becoming an accomplished engineer in telecommunications. She was active in politics and worked tirelessly to further social and environmental causes. Nancy could truly be called an environmental activist long before the term existed and pursued all of her endeavors with great passion. Chapel service Thursday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hadassah.
