Your father was my dentist when I was growing up. We had gone to a different dentist for several years before him and my mother was not happy with the treatment we were receiving. I had been extremely afraid of the dentist and your father was the most warm, compassionate doctor I have met. He calmed my sister and I from the first time we saw him, and, fourteen cavities later, I never cried or felt any pain. He was a lovely man and I still remember his smiling face in his office on Peterson Avenue. I was glad to read that he led a full, happy life and I know your memories of him will be a constant reminder of his caring demeanor.

There are some people that always seem extremely joyful to see you and sincerely interested about you and your family. Marven was one of those people throughout the nearly 42 years of our marriage and the many times that we have seen each other at North Shore Congregation Israel.

Marven always remembered details about our lives and never ended a conversation without wishing us well. He delighted when he heard about our children. I will remember his beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. I will also remember what a gentleman he was and how he was always so smartly dressed. He had such a distinguished, wise, kind and loving presence and he embodied his years so well. He will be very, very missed.
