Dana and I met at Edelman, my first full time job out of college. I quickly learned as a young designer that my work in college was just the beginning to understanding the complex world of design, business and paper. When it came to paper and printing, I needed further education. Dana, between the business of all her other responsibilities for the design group, was a great mentor to me in this regard and helped foster a love for the “entire” project, not just the visuals on the page. I will forever be grateful to Dana for her joy and assistance in helping me become a better designer. You will be missed.

Dana has always had something about her. So fun. So intelligent. So genuinely warm. I feel fortunate to have reconnected with her a couple of years ago while in Chicago with a few other Chi O sisters for lunch. I regret not seeing her more in recent years. She made an impact on me the moment I met her when she was rushing. I loved her bubbly personality, not to mention her fashion sense instantly. I still vividly remember our first meeting. She really did know how to make an impression. She also knew how to tell hilarious stories and was also a great sport when the story was about her.

She’s a lovely person inside and out. And I’ll miss having her here in our world.

Still struggling with the loss of Dana, a close friend/former colleague who left us way too. She was like a sister to me, so loving and sweet to me and my children. She taught me all I know about printing quality, she was an expert in print production, often telling pressmen how to solve problems on press and never took “no” as answer. Overseeing printing in Europe and Asia for the Black Book, she had depths of experience before we hired her at Edelman. She worked tirelessly around the clock meeting crazy agency deadlines no matter how insane and negotiated incredible pricing for our clients. We worked together at client press checks around the clock for our annual report clients and she was a major contributor to building our successful design group at Edelman. I miss her terribly already. Rest in peace Dana Grossman.

Dana was one of the strongest & most gracious women I’ve ever known. I admired her energy & commitment in class, even before we met. It was an honor to have her as a Chi Omega sister, a friendship that latest through the ages. And boy did we have fun along the way: double dates, dances, parties, outings, out of town adventures, and many wonderful chats. She was most gracious as both a guest and a host, recalling multiple gatherings in her Evanston condo. I will dearly miss her insight and thoughtfulness and am privileged to have had her in my life.
