Dear Hershman family,
Our deepest condolences go out to the whole family. We have known and loved Jeff for many years, since he was a young boy and was friends with Bob. Most recently, before my father, Milton Shadur, passed away, Jeff came over and had a lovely visit with my parents. I am so grateful that they had this time together. The Hershmans were like family to us when I was young. Jeff’s sister, Janie, taught me to skate. Bob and Jeff were best of friends, and spent loads of time together at our house. Janet has remained a friend to our family, luckily enough!
Jeff was truly a warm and wonderful guy. We will miss him and send you our wishes for loving memories to cherish and comfort you at this most difficult time.
With love, Eleanor and Beth Shadur

My deepest sorrows go out to Holly and her sons. Jeff was my handyman for many years. Jeff made sure that with every project I had for him, he taught me how to DIY. He had many stories and lessons with each visit. I went to see his car displayed and saw his trains run in Northbrook. I will miss him terribly and grieve your lost. My prayers go out to the entire family. He was GOOD ONE. And will be missed.

I am very sad to hear of Jeff’s passing. He was my friend and my face always lit up in a big smile whenever I saw him. He was extremely funny, warm, thoughtful, and a great story teller. I played baseball with him for many years, and in his younger days, he was an excellent ballplayer with a formidable bat. He will be greatly missed by me and by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. My deepest condolences go to Holly, AJ, Eddie, Phil, all of whom I know, and to the rest of his family and friends.

It was very difficult to hear the news and is still surreal.
You taught me a lot about the car world and for that I’m grateful. I’m going to miss our car shows, road trips and watching you give people a piece of your mind when you have something to say.
You were truly one of a kind with your zest for life, love for your family, and all of those stories!
I’m going to miss you…
Lisa and I are sending our condolences to Holly and the family

The one year we all gathered for Thanksgiving down in Florida…it was the first time all the “kids” were together as adults. I have the best picture of Jeff about to dive into the biggest turkey leg ever! He was the biggest kid of us all. My deepest condolences and most sympathetic prayers are with you all.

This is so sad to hear. Jeff was my first boyfriend at Central School. Being so young we had phone dates where we would be on the phone with each other watching tv shows. I remember Jeff as always smiling. One of the nice guys. My deepest sympathies to Holly and the family. Died too soon.

My heart is so heavy at the loss of my friend, Jeffrey.
It pales in comparison to the loss that you and the family must feel. Holly, I so enjoyed JeffE’s zest for all things that were arguable. I admired his dedication to the boys and their development, and his quiet humbleness when he would confess that he did not have all the answers. His humour and his love of history was beyond compare. He was a storyteller- that likes of which stories were written about in history.
He was unique in so many ways. I am so very sorry that he will miss the next generation of Hershmans, of whom he would be endlessly proud to be called their GrandFather.
May his memory be a blessing to all of you, as it is to me.
