Harriet Berman, nee Karm, 85, beloved wife of the late Myron; loving mother of Marc (Barbara), Joel (Suzanne) and Miriam Berman; adored grandma of Andy and Jamie; treasured sister of the late Paul (late Anita) and the late Jerry (late Arlene) Karm; caring aunt of Bob, Janice, Steve and the late Denny. Harriet was a founding member of Am Yisrael Conservative Congregation in Northfield. Synagogue service 2 PM Thursday at Temple Chai, 1670 Checker Road, Long Grove. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. This AM as I read My dear childhood friends obit sad and happy tears welled up in my heart. Jumping Rope, Roller Skating, Hop Scotch, Pinners against my bldg., running around the school yard at Bryant, walking to Legler Library, Streetcars to Marshall,doing homework, movies at Lawndale Theater, sharing a soda at the candy store in my corner bldg.on Karlov & 13th St, laughing and sharing tears, parties and trying to figure out the boys..Lucky we had brothers to clue us in.
Mom was a caring friend and always had a beautiful smile and giggle. We did a lot of that! Please cherish all the memories of your Mom and Dad. Stay close and share with your children and grandchildren as they are added to the family. Shalom to all 0f you.
