Dr. Alan S. Colitz, 70, beloved husband of the late Judith, nee Kittay for over 43 years; loving father of Dr. Andrew Colitz (Nogah) and grandfather of Jules Izzy Colitz; treasured brother of Natalie (Ronald) Cohen and Susan Diamond (Henry) Abraham; caring uncle of David and Suzanne Cohen, David and Robert Diamond; Ilana and Keith Cooper (Courtney); David and Katie Grass; dearest brother-in-law of Andy (Stuart) Grass and Leila (Dr. Bruce) Cooper; dedicated cousin to Norman (Sarah Ann), Fred (Trisha), and Sheldon (Laura) Margulies; committed partner to Linda Fink. Alan was educated at the University of Wisconsin Madison and Loyal Dental School, which prepared him for his life’s work as a dentist. Alan was welcomed everywhere. His magnetic personality, humorous and witty charm along with his beautiful voice allowed him to develop life-long friendships and to find the fun in any situation. Graveside service Friday 11am September 28th at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. I am so sorry to hear of Alan’s passing. He was a classmate from dental school. He was a great guy and will truly be missed. I was in New York and unable to attend the funeral. I will keep him and his family in my prayers.

I’ve known Alan for 14 years, and have seen him every month during those years. I always enjoyed his conversations and time together. He was an amazing human being with so much energy and love for the world. He will be deeply missed. I will always cherish the moments spent with him.

We had a lawn moving business together & went to Expo Montreal, then took a bus to NYC as kids. And we were roommates at Wisconsin, twice. I’m going to miss you, lots.

so many memories, years of softball, basketball, pinochle, racquetball – what a quick wit and great sense of humor.

Alan, Jeff, and Arnie helped me move when I go divorced. All great friends

Always kept in touch with him but hadn’t seen him much since we moved to San Diego 14 years ago

He and his girlfriend ( I apologize I forgot her name ) were visiting San Diego just a few weeks ago and we had a great fun lunch overlooking the ocean. So, so glad I got to see him again.

I will miss him.
