I had the privilege of being married to Debbie for almost 25 years. She was and will always be the one and only love of my life. She is not only an unsurmountable loss to me but to the world. She was the kindest, sweetest most caring person I ever knew. There isn’t an answer to the question why but part of me died with her.

Deborah and I were friends for 65 years. She truly was my best friend in every sense. A keeper of all my secrets, a wonderful support whenever I needed it, and someone who shared in my joyful life experiences. Debbie always and regularly shared how much I meant to her both on the phone and in writing. We frequently would plot ways to come up with adventures to help us enjoy life more (and yes, to meet men), but sadly never got around to actually doing some of those crazy things. But, we did succeed in seeing each other whenever we could, speaking on a regular basis over all those decades, and always ending our conversations with “I love you”. The world has lost a beautiful person. I and so many others whose life she has touched will miss her terribly!
