Arthur Alan Cole, deeply loved husband of Cookie “Ilene”, nee Richards; devoted son of the late Shirley and Mannie Cole; adored brother to Joyce (the late Edgar) Stenn; cherished uncle of Harlan Stenn (Margaret Clark), Nancy Stenn and the late Susan Stenn; treasured cousin and exceptional friend. Chapel service Monday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Entombment Beth Shearim Mausoleum, Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Collier County and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center For Cancer Research. My Uncle Art was my dad’s best friend. I have memories of him and Aunt Cookie for as long as I can remember. Uncle Art was always kind, loving, easy-going and funny. My dad and my family always throught the world of him. I have great memories of him at family meals, holidays and occasions, and playing tennis with Uncle Art in Florida. When I was a small child, he coronated me the “Smokefish Queen” due to my voracious appetite for smokefish at Sunday brunch. The name stuck!

What a beautiful example they were for lifetime friendships and their lifetime partnership in marriage. I’m so thankful I was able to see him last Fall while in Chicago. I will miss him.

Aunt Cookie, thank you for being such a wonderful partner to Uncle Art. I love you and I’m here for you.
