My father, Arnold Bolnick, was Lennie Bolnick’s brother and they were in business together for much of my childhood. Our families spent lots of good times together, with Grandpa Ted and Grandma Rose; and of course we were together with the extended families at so many holidays and celebrations. Times were good in the 50’s and early 60’s. Bonnie was a happy, energetic person and a loving cousin. It’s too bad that our families drifted apart—beginning with the breakup of the brothers’ business, and followed by Bonnie’s, Andy’s, and my and my brothers’ disparate post-high school travels into the world of adulthood. As a result, I have not been close to Bonnie or her family, and saw them all together only once (at Daniel’s Bar Mitzvah). We have reconnected with Andy and were delighted to have him at a Bolnick/Horwitz family reunion last year; however, Bonnie’s health prevented her from attending. Bonnie has finished her voyage on the seas of this life and found the blessing of peace. God reset her soul.
