Paulina Lichtenstein, nee Zaidner, beloved wife of the late Jack; devoted mother of Edward (Geri) Lichtenstein, Michel (Jerry) Palomo and Bettyann (Paul) Studebaker; proud and loving grandmother of Marc and Sarah Palomo, Benjamin and Adam Studebaker; adored daughter of the late Genendla and Ysrael Moises Zaidner; dear sister of Rosa (the late Paul) Neuman and the late Felicia (the late Israel) Laufer; treasured aunt, cousin and friend of many. Chapel service Sunday 12:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Entombment Beth Shearim Mausoleum, Shalom Memorial Park. November 3rd, 2018

On my first trip to Skokie in 1971, I was honored to be greeted by Paulina and Jack, parents of my best of friends and later, best man Ed. I was treated like royalty though I was just a farm kid from downstate and was fed the best in the traditions of the Lichtenstein feasts. I will never forget the warm hospitality and the attempts to have a conversation with Paulina in my best Spanish. Little did I know that her brand of the language would carry the richness of Eastern Europe and Cuba of her youth–so we decided to stick with English. What a beautiful mother, grandmother, wife and friend! Amen.
