I just learned, years later, of Steve’s passing away. Belatedly, though with sincerity I offer my condolences to his wife and family. I also knew Jackie Klein, who was referred to me by Steve and she helped me buy a house on Lake Shore Drive. I was also a partner with in purchasing a property (land) in one of the northern suburbs that we later sold.
Steve was the one who taught me financial discipline and saving, and was largely responsible for me becoming financially independent and more. And he was kind enough to give me advice, many times, that I can never forget. I never can thank him enough for that.
Now my daughter lives in Wilmette, and she and her family need legal advice and help in creating various instruments like trusts etc, and that was the reason I looked him up. Only to find that he has passed, obviously to a better place than this earth, for that is where he belongs.
Again, my condolences.

Steve was a gentleman and fine lawyer with an enjoyable, dry sense of humor. I never left a meeting with Steve without having shared a good laugh and having learned something about his field of law.
