Dearest Aunt Marlene, you meant so much to me personally as the closest Kempner family member for so many years and as my favorite Porsche driving aunt. Famous for your ‘timely’ gifts will forever be a fun family story my children will pass on to their children as well. Your love for Tovi and Romi was boundless, and your endless energy in building the Kempner family genealogy means the world to me and our family. I will miss you sorely as the Kempner family elder statesman as well. Until we meet again, please tell Grandpa Dave, Grandma Bessie, and Mom we love and miss them dearly. I love you and will miss you forever.
Your nephew,
-Ward, Marion, Tovi, and Romi

I remember going to a dinner party at Marlene and Bernie’s home when they moved to a condo in Westchester. Marlene was a great cook. It was Halloween and Marlene made pumpkin soup (in a pumpkin ramekin), salmon, sweet potato and pumpkin pie. Everything was orange and did we ever laugh!
Always a talented woman. I attended her photograph exhibit at SUNY Purchase.
My thoughts are with you all.

Marlene will be missed by all that knew her. Marlene was a positive, caring, kind and generous soul. She had a great sense of humor; will miss her laugh. A creative soul…always had projects on the go. She had a great life. We loved Bernie and Marlene’s attendance to our annual holiday party. We will miss her. Hugs to Bernie and family.

I remember very fondly all the times we spent together when I was younger, especially in your house in Connecticut.
My mother and father (Lester and Lois) always had such warm feelings for you.
I am also eternally grateful for the amazing family tree you left us. It is something that we will pass on for generations.

A woman of valor who can find? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, and he hath no lack of gain. She doeth him good and not evil all the days of her life.
