If you weren’t driving us all over hells half acre in your big Mercury (later Fleetwood) with the front seat so far forward it seemed as if the steering wheel was almost touching the back of the seat, you were making us fried salami sandwiches (Carol’s on white bread with mayonnaise). You made me feel like a member of the family and I thought of you like a second mom. You exuded joy and had a way of making me feel good about myself.
You were a huge part of my life growing up. I have thought of you often over the years and always will.
I love you and am heartened by the thought of you and Howard together again.

Rita was the perfect example of a mother that cherished family. I am so grateful for my friendship with Iris over the last 38 yrs and it is clear the love that Rita and Howard instilled in their children has been carried on through their children. Our deepest condolences to Iris and the family.
