Obituary

Sy E. Shimanovsky, 85, passed away on November 4, 2023. Beloved husband for 24 years to the love of his life the late Roberta; loving father of Roger (Carrie), David (Suzy) and Sheryl (David) Letwat; loved step-father of Mark (Dee) Wolf, Blake and Brad Wolf; cherished “Grandpa Sy” of Jacob (fiancee’ Rebecca Bloom) Letwat, Noah Letwat, Matthew (Emma), Lauren (Zach) Schwartz, Brett and Emily Shimanovsky; dear great-grandpa; much loved brother of the late Jack (the late Jeanette) Shane, the late Evelyn (the late Bernie) Frank, the late Seymour (the late Elaine) Shiman, the late Burt (Judy) and the late Blanche (the late Fred) Simon; loved uncle, great uncle and friend to everyone. Sy was a dedicated Chicago White Sox fan, he loved cameras, he was an amateur photographer that could be found taking pictures of just about everything. He had such a loved for the hobby that he built a dark room for photo processing in his home. Sy was very proud of Jewish Heritage. I remember Sy distinctly. Very nice man. Visited his home often with David. Witnessed his dark room built in his home in person. Sy loved taking photos with a variety of interests. Building the dark room and developing his own pictures gave him a gratifying satisfaction. My condolences to David, Roger and Sheryl and their respective families. Miss you Shimo!!!
