Obituary
Sheila Lambert-Saunders passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023. Sheila Lambert-Saunders was born and raised on Chicago’s northside. A devoted mother of three, she loved to cook and took pride in teaching her children to cook from scratch. Among her favorite foods were greens and cornbread, ice cream, and popcorn. And she loved corned beef sandwiches, with a pickle on the side! An avid music lover and dancer, she enjoyed jazz, classical music, and salsa, and passed on this appreciation for music and dance to the children as well. Sheila was truly loved by all who had the pleasure to know her and is already dearly missed. She leaves behind 3 children: Ricardo, Ebonie, and Vaughn Saunders, and a host of cousins and extended family. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to Nourishing Hope, www.nourishinghopechi.org would be greatly appreciated. Graveside service, Monday, August 28, 2023, 1 PM at Graceland Cemetery (Greenwood Gate) 4264 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL. Sheila celebrated life. I have a memory of her at a birthday celebration, and the venue was picked because it had great salsa music. She looked for the fun things in life – she would regularly remind me to go eat ice cream.

Sheila always told me I look like my dad. I came to visit her one day and she said “ lucky” then she realized it was me.
