Tom & I were introduced to Char in the early 70’s, in Buffalo, NY, and it was a magnetic friendship from that moment on! Char was so real, so much fun, a true loving person from head to toe, who treasured her friends, as we so did, through thick & thick, quirks & all. We stayed in touch from those 70’s to the end of her struggle in life, thanks to Barb for the memorable connection at the end. Char was so a part of our family that the kids called her “Aunt Char.” They were daunted when finding out she wasn’t really their Aunt! Char moved from Buffalo but our friendship stayed in tact, visiting her in California & Chicago, staying close through cards (Char loved sending her cards with notes), calls, laughs & unspoken love.

I knew Char in Buffalo where she loved to sit with our group of friends and sing folk songs. I visited her many times in California as well as Chicago. We had taken a memorable camp trip across country together to the Garden of the Gods camp ground in Colorado. While there we drove to Aspen for the day where we saw John Denver walking down the street. We played golf and found out the altitude really wore you out so we decided to spend the night. We have driven up the Pacific Coast Highway in CA where we took advantage of the many sights along the way. She was always up for a fun adventure and a blast to be with. Love you Char and will miss you very much.

So many good memories of meeting for exercise class and then going to lunch. Which was really the reason for the exercise Char loved a good laugh and so enjoyed laughing with her. We’ll miss her.
