Norton J. Diamond

Dr. Norton J. Diamond, age 98, of Northbrook, IL passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Eileen Diamond, nee Cohen. Loving father of Marc (Deborah) Diamond, Rand (Rhonda) Diamond and Kirk (Kathy) Diamond; adored grandfather of Heather (Jos) Vaught, Blane Diamond, Michelle Diamond, Dustin Diamond, Ashley (Sean) Weldy, Jessica (Ben) Bowerman and Alec (Laura) Diamond; proud great grandfather of Roan and Ryah Vaught, Max Weldy and Frank Bowerman. He is survived by sisters Marilyn (Ken) Dubin and Estelle Jacobs.

Norton was born in Chicago and lived the majority of his adult life in Peoria, IL. Norton was a WWII veteran and served as a medic with the 1897th Aviation Engineer Battalion in the Pacific Theater. After his military service he went to the Chicago College of Optometry and enjoyed a long career as an optometrist. Norton enjoyed golf and gardening and with Eileen were avid bridge players, enjoyed dancing, educational travel and life-long learning.
