Obituary

Mania Beitner (née Sliska), a holocaust survivor, slipped away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, after 95 years of quiet strength and determination, joy and tears, and a caring and kindness she bestowed on all she knew. Her smile, especially when surrounded by her grandchildren and most recently her toddling great grandchildren, could light up a room. She often demonstrated her love for others through her cooking and baking. One could not leave her home without partaking in her butter and chocolate chip cookies that she always had on hand.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry, Mania is survived by her two daughters, Lely (Mark Hautman) and Anita (the late David Rosenbaum). She was the adored grandmother of Hana (Nick Reichl) Kati (Brent Hagg), Ben (Amanda Berman), and Elliot (Madison Myers), and great grandmother to Colin, Colter, Dax, Theo, Hudson, and Reese. She was cherished by her loving and compassionate aide, Lanie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the US Holocaust Museum.
