Howard A. Kosner

Howard Kosner, 94, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023. Adored son of the late Maurice and Lillian Kosner; beloved husband and best friend of Phyllis Kosner, nee Kleiman, his true love for 25 years; loving father of Debbie (Stan) Edwards, Melissa Kosner Janson, Michael (Michelle) Kosner and the late Lisa Kosner Harris; much loved stepdad of Edward (Laurie) Friman, Lynne Friman and Ronald (Emma) Friman; cherished Papa of Nick (Catherine) Kafkis, Nicole Edwards, Lanie Kafkis, Noah Schwartz, Jade Harris, Chance Kosner, Scout Kosner, Michelle (Allen) Rebot, Benjamin (Sierra) Friman, Zeus Friman and Apollo Friman; dear brother of Elaine (the late Ronald) Waxman and Arthur (Lynn) Kosner. Howard proudly served our country in Korea from 1950-1952. After returning home from the war, he took a job at Wembley, the world’s largest neck-tie manufacturer. While there he took over the sales division and became the world leader in sales. Over the following 45 years Howard worked in the clothing industry until his retirement. As a fiercely proud Jew Howard stood up for those too weak to stand up for themselves. He was quiet yet strong. He never bragged and he never forgot where he came from. Among his many interests he loved racehorses, many of them disturbingly slow. He will be fondly remembered by all that loved him and that he loved.
