Raymond Firfer, aged 97, born in Chicago and lived in Skokie and Lincolnshire, died peacefully on September 7, 2024. He was a dedicated Urologist, beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Raymond found joy in practicing medicine, fishing, traveling the world and especially participating in sailboat races on Lake Michigan. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others and was on the faculty of Chicago Medical School. He was an active member of his community, volunteering for various causes and organizations and was an Air Force Medic during the Korean War. Loving husband to the late Edna for 57 years; beloved father of Bourke, Julie (Adam Robbins), Randall and the late Owen; cherished grandfather of Rachel, Max and Emily Robbins; devoted son of the late Joseph and Ethel Firfer; dear brother of Harold (Kathy) Firfer and the late Bourke (Virginia) Firfer; fond brother-in-law of the late Alberta (Bernard) Schoen; cherished uncle and friend of many. He will be greatly missed. Graveside service Wednesday, Noon, at Westlawn Cemetery, 7801 W. Montrose Avenue, Norridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
