Friends since grammar school but kind of drifted apart after high school-reconnected in our late 20’s early 30’s and then lost touch but Dave was always a car nut-loved the muscle cars- he even made me put glass packs on my 1971 Camaro- I remember he had a super nic 1981 Corvette -black with white interior- the ultimate combo. Very witty-always had a funny nickname for someone or something. Also had a pretty good moral compass. So sorry to hear of his passing- I know he was a good husband and dad and grandfather.

Lester, Min, Gail, Joel and David were my neighbors across the alley from the time we moved to Skokie in 1960 through high school.
I used to babysit for him even though I wasn’t that much older than he was. We used to watch Star Trek together, the original one, when it was brand new. David was a great kid. He was smart, curious and fun. I loved the whole Shapiro family. So deeply sad to hear of his passing, way too early. Deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him, may his memory be a blessing.

I hadn’t seen Dave since high school, but when I saw his photo memories came back of a really sweet guy with a great sense of humor.
May he Rest in Peace

David was smart and accomplished. I always enjoyed his insights when we chatted at family events. He will truly be missed.

I met David years ago in both L.Woods and Big Bowl. We would sometimes sit and chat for 30, 40, 50 minutes about everything and nothing. The rest of his family might have been bored 🙂 but we had great conversations. I always looked forward to his visits. A one of a kind.

I met Dave when he took over my mother’s investments. From that point on Dave became part of our family. Coming to family events , parties, and even our wedding. We will miss Dave and his sense of humor. Brother Dave take care …
