Obituary

Beverly Didech (née Stone) passed peacefully on 12/2/24, on her 98th birthday in Deerfield, Illinois. She is survived by her daughter Sheri Langendorf; son and daughter-in-law Dean and Marleen Didech; son Gregg Didech and partner Beth Orech; and brother and sister-in-law Howard and Ferne Stone. Her legacy includes grandchildren Emily Langendorf Mysel (Daniel), and Kate (partner Chris Barnett), Daniel (Jen), Adam (Lauren), Scott (Deanna), Madeleine and Makenna Didech. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Max, Eli, Theo, Parker, Violet, and Wesley. She was preceded in death by Marvin, her loving husband of 46 years; parents Albert and Goldie (née Horwitz) Stone; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Henry Gendell; and son-in-law Michael Langendorf. We are thankful for the joyful life she shared with Sheldon Pollack over the last exciting chapter of her life. Beverly lived an incredible life filled with tragedies and joy. She was feisty, stylish, bold, determined, vibrant and a great dancer. She will be missed by many. I remember Beverly fondly when she married my cousin
Marvin Didech while he was serving in the navy during WW2.
Her parents lived near me when I moved from Chicago to Florida,
and I remember her visits and how she liked to play tennis at the
outdoor courts in North Miami Beach. My deepest condolences.

Bevvy was one-of-a-kind. Remembered as “the one who got away” from Hugh Hefner’s childhood, I doubt she’ll have the time to give him a kindly “hello” now that she’s eternally dancing to Shirley’s singing.
