Just love thinking about many years laughing with Ava. We met in high school and hung around with Marla, Nancy, and Char enjoying Ava’s sense of humor and contagious laugh. Enjoyed U of Il a few years with Ava and saw her a lot after we graduated. We went out to eat, went to the beach, and just laughed. I loved her loud, blunt jokes and that wonderful laugh. I’ll miss it….but try to pass on that love and laughter.

We live below her unit. Ava was a very nice neighbor, everytime we see her, she always had a smile on her face. Our parking space is right beside her space so we would often see her. She was very friendly. We are sad to hear about her passing. We will surely miss seeing her.

We met Ava through Ivy and Scott Kroman. We all were involved with Bene Shalom Synagogue and our WBCK Leukemia Chapter. Ava loved going to concerts, plays, and playing rummikub and definitely loved her shopping and just being with her friends. Ava touched many people’s heart. Ava will be greatly missed. Farewell beautiful and blessed friend…now you join the rest of our friends and your family. We wish your entire family our deepest condolences. Love Nate and Sheri

I have just watched the chapel service via livestream. I was one of Ava’s Illini friends 50 years ago. I cannot believe that Ava has gone, but I can believe how many people loved and cherished her throughout her life. At our dorm, I remember her busting out in song, or speaking in a funny voice. She was one of a kind, and I will miss her very much.

Kevin and I have so many great memories of Ava, since Ava and I have been friends since we met at Niles West High School and Kevin became her pen pal after they met at the University of Illinois. We especially loved being with Ava because she was quick to make wisecracks and had a contagious laugh. In fact, she always made me laugh if she started laughing. That is how we will always remember her.

Ava worked hard as the secretary at Bene Shalom. She was always friendly and willing to help in any way she could. May she rest in peace.

Ava was a beautiful person. She was always patient and kind when I would call CBS. My heart and prayers are with her family and friends.

Ava was one of the sweetest and most gentle persons one would want to meet. She was beloved by her students and cherished by her friends. Ava was able to bring out the best in her students through educational instruction and tender loving care. In many instances, Ava was their mother, sister and friend rather than their teacher.
Ava is one of a kind…as a teacher and a friend. Debbie and I will always remember Ava with fondness and love. Her memory will always be for a blessing. RIP good friend…you will always be with us.
