Obituary
Born on October 15, 1947, and raised in her beloved city of Chicago, Carole was known for her easy smile, light heart, and outgoing personality. Growing up, Carole enjoyed spending time with friends and participating in synchronized swimming, she was even selected to do the solo performance in the annual show at Glenbrook North. In 1971, she met the love of her life and perfect partner, Merrill, marrying later that same year. She lived and worked in the Chicago area for her entire life, enjoying everything the city had to offer, especially her beloved Chicago Cubs, and working for Northwestern Mutual. By far, her favorite role in life was being a devoted mother, spending countless hours cheering on her son at swim meets and baseball games, and then later traveling to visit him and his family in Ohio. She also loved and cared for numerous animals over the years, most recently her beloved boxer rescue, Buddy.
Carole is survived by her son David (Katy) of Holland, OH; brother Lee (Nina) Snett of Longmont, CO; and several cousins and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerrold and Adeline Snett nee Larwitz; her husband of nearly 48 years, Merrill; and parents-in-law, Harry and Eve Eisenstein.

Caryl was a wonderful friend. She was always there if I needed her. My grandfather had a stroke , and Caryl watched all 4 of my kids, so I could travel to Florida to be with my grandfather. She is a good soul! She was a great Mom to David and wife to Merrill,

Our deepest condolences to Dave, Katy, and family in the loss of Carole. I have fond memories of Carole and Merril visiting Dave while he and I were teammates at University of Toledo. Carole was always so kind and interested to hear about what we had going on. She was and no doubt is very proud of David. I regret that we are unable to be with you during this time. Please know we cherish her memory and your friendship.

We met Carol and Merrill at swim meets for David and our daughter Angela. Sharing many hours waiting for 30 seconds to 2 minute swim competition runs. We enjoyed their friendship for the years that followed. We will miss Carol.

Mine is the fond Memory of a Swimming Mom willing to breathe Chlorine for 3 day weekend swim meets only to watch her son swim for a few minutes. The role model she was to get Dave to swim practice not once but often twice a day. The Mom that would encourage her son to chase his dreams and help him become a Division One College Athlete. I am fortunate to see David daily and befriend the Amazing Man she helped shape. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with your Family

Carole was full of life as she was always able to see good in others and was optimistic during difficult times. She had a quit wit and spoke her opinion. I worked with Carole when she battled through cancer.. That wasn’t going to stop her. She confronted that illness with courage and strength. She will be missed.
