Obituary

Arthur H. “Art” or “Artie” Sherman, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Westlake, Ohio. Beloved husband of Carol (née Jenkin) for over 17 years, and the late Sharon (née O’Keefe) for over 40 years. Loving father of Lynn (Jon) Ransdell, Lauren (Jim) Rood, and a bonus dad for Lisa, Mary, and the late Julie Miragliotta. Cherished grandfather, ” Pake’ ” to Ashley (Tyler) Hooker, Ian (Priscilla) Ransdell, Delanie Southwell (fiancé Lewis Sokolowski), Freydel (Nelson) Diaz, Daroling Ransdell, Mileydi (Brayan) Hernandez, Rachael Rood, Thomas Rood, and a bonus grandfather to Carol’s grandchilden Rachel Van Scyoc, Natalie Van Scyoc, and the late Zac Van Scyoc; adored great grandfather to 13 precious kiddos; dear brother of Eileen Rosengard and Hope Sage; devoted son of the late Louis and Anne Sherman; amazing uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many. Art worked for Illinois Bell / ATandT for over 30 years before venturing into real estate. He was a hardworking man, known for his knack for fixing anything. Family-oriented, passionate, loving, and accepting. Art lived life with warmth and humor. Art and Carol lived in Las Vegas for about 16 years together, where he enjoyed spending time at the casino. A lifelong fan of games-whether board, card, or computer-Art was a lively and fun grandpa who brought laughter to every gathering. Above all, Art made family his priority. Nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Memorial donations in his honor may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, www.hospicewr.org. Interment Randhill Park Cemetery. Art was a part of the O’Keefe family for as long as I remember, back to when I was 5 years old and he was dating Sharon, my godmother. He was an active part of our family being at every event we had. I’m so sorry, Lynn, and Jon, Lauren and Jim as well as all the grandchildren and his wife Carol. I just found out about his passing. We’re sorry we were unable to attend. Love is going out to all of you, Donna, Pattie, Tatiana(Paisley & Liam)💐😘🥰❤️

Art Sherman’s smile lit up a room! He was sweet, caring & loving. He was always very helpful in any way he could be. He’d give the shirt off his back to someone in need. I’m blessed to have known him and to have been in his presence. Lauren & Lynn and your families, I pray that your beautiful memories will help you through this difficult time.
