What a wonderful woman and life partner, truly one of a kind, always cheerful and willing to help. Prayers and more prayers. God bless.

I am wishing strength, comfort and peace for the whole family as you grieve the loss of someone so very special. I have been blessed to know Roberta through her presence in my movement classes for over 18 years (most often multiple times a week). No matter which format I offered; dance, somatic stretch, or a specialty rhythm class Roberta showed up and gave it her all. She was beloved within our movement community. She always took the time for a smile, a hello or to talk with myself as well as fellow classmates. We will all miss her beautiful smile. She often contributed songs from her favorite artists including Adele, Bette Midler and Billie Eilish. I am saddened by Roberta’s passing and grateful to have known such a strong, accomplished, passionate and gentle woman. Her loyalty, dedication, kindness, and love of music and dance will always be in my heart.

I’m so sorry to hear about Roberta’s passing. She and I attended many of the same fitness classes at the YMCA for the past 10 years. She was such a kind and compassionate person, always asking about my kids and what they were doing. I’ll miss seeing her smiling face. My deepest condolences to her family.

I am so saddened by Roberta’s passing. So, so sorry for your family’s loss. Roberta was a good friend for the decade when our boys were in elementary school at LaSalle. Living practically around the corner from each other we helped each other out with car pooling and her youngest and my oldest (in the same grade) were good friends. Kind soul that she was, she and Jeff were friends when I was going through some difficult personal times. She always brought a smile to my face when we encountered each other on the street and we’d catch up about our families – the marriages, the birth of grandchildren. I will miss her, the neighborhood will miss her, and I extend to her family my deep appreciation for her friendship. We have lost a good human being, and at a time when they are needed more than ever.

I was so heartbroken when I heard about Roberta’s passing. I had the great honor and privilege of working with Roberta at Northwestern University for 20 years. She was a great champion and strong advocate for the mental health of graduate and professional students on the Chicago campus. Her advocacy and hard work laid the foundation for much needed attention and resources for that campus and the students. During all of my life journey, I have never met anyone more caring, kind, and compassionate than Dr. Roberta Baer. In a world filled with mean-spiritedness and one-upmanship, she was an admirable aberration. My deepest condolences go out to her husband, Jeff, her sons, Andrew and Scott, and the rest of her family an loved ones. The streets of heaven have another angel and I know she is smiling down and continuing to spread her good will for all of humanity. RIP my friend.
