Obituary
Larry Komen, 78, passed away on February 7, 2025. Larry was a devoted husband to Carol for 58 years and a loving father to Jennifer (Eric) Fine and Danielle (Michael) McDonald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Morris as well as his sister Norma Singer. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor, caring nature and friendships. He died peacefully from stage IV cancer surrounded by family. He was an accomplished psychologist, dedicating his career to helping others. Larry loved running, biking, traveling, volunteering, and being outdoors. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the world, and was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Creticos Cancer Center, www.secure.aahgiving.org or PAWS Chicago,www.pawschicago.org. Chapel service Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
