Obituary

Merton “Mickey” Abrams, 92, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Myrna “Micki” (née Feldman) for 69 wonderful years; loving father of Lori (Seymour) Chelemsky, Lisa Garvin, and Terri (Jeff) Rappaport; cherished “Papa” of Brandon (Betsy) Berman, Brittany (Eric) Booth, Chase (Karen) Berman, Justin (Natalie) Garvin, Alex (Ashley) Garvin, Ally (Eric) Shamberg, Cory (Emily) Rappaport, and Jack Rappaport. Adored great-grandfather of Max and Sam Berman, Cameron and Brielle Booth, Noah Berman, Olivia and Zoey Garvin, Charlie and Tyler Shamberg, and Elsie Rappaport. Much-loved brother of Harvey (Janet) Abrams and Sara (Marty) Liebman; treasured uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many.

A proud U.S. Army Korean War veteran, Mickey was known for his strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family. To know him was to love him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never complained, even when facing significant health challenges. Beginning at age 50, Mickey battled medical conditions with remarkable resilience-always smiling and finding a way to make the best of every situation.

After retirement, Mickey and his beloved Micki relocated to Las Vegas, where they enjoyed 26 vibrant years before returning home to be closer to family. He was an active member of B’nai Brith, loved bowling, and cherished every moment spent with those he held dear. Mickey will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
