Russell S. Katz, 70; devoted son of the late Irving and Gladys; beloved brother of Beth Elkayam, Joanne (Bill) Rosati and the late Alan Katz; adored uncle of Jessica (Joshua) Backus, David Elkayam, Joshua Katz, Rachel (Steve) Stowe, Jacob Katz, Robert (Rosalind) Rosati, Samantha (Paul) Waterloo and James Rosati; much loved great-uncle of Margot, Lucy, Samuel, Sofia, Benjamin, Vivienne and Lily. Russell loved to spoil his nieces and nephews, was fiercely devoted to his sisters and brother-in-law and had a special place in his heart for his pets. Chapel service will be held Monday, February 3rd at 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Russ was a good friend. he was as kind as he was articulate. He was dedicated to his family and the Jewish community.
He always gave me the exact time to light the Shabbat candels. I miss our talks as he was very intelligent and had a great sense of humor.
May Russ’s memory forever be a blessing.
