Obituary

Seymour Skolnick, a spirited 98 years young and a revered WWII veteran, has joyously reunited with his beloved Lorraine, his partner of 72 magical years. Together, they are now dancing once more.

With a smile that lit up every room and a twinkle in his captivating blue eyes, Seymour, affectionately known as Poppi, brought joy to all who knew him. He was a devoted father to the late David and cherished his daughter Shari, (along with his other son) Mark Coe. He relished every moment with his late grandson Justin Coe and his granddaughter Breana (and Jay Poppino) who was the apple of his eye.

Poppi’s years of friendships with Shionnah, Febe, Jon, and Zulie filled his days with unconditional love, laughter and joy. He held a heart full of gratitude for the wonderful community at Sedgebrook and at sunny Fisher Island, Florida, where he thrived.

Throughout his life, Poppi embraced many roles: son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, friend, and grandfather. He was a student, businessman, jeweler, soldier, congregant, world traveler, and storyteller-a true gentleman in every sense. He was our King, nothing less than royalty.

His artistry and flair made the world more vibrant, and his dazzling presence will be deeply missed. Thank you, Poppi, for illuminating our lives and making the world a brighter place with your whimsical spirit. Now, it’s time to lace up those dancing shoes once again! We love you.
