Obituary

A. Jay Rabinowitz, age 90, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Dalia (née Perelmutter) for 64 wonderful years. Among his greatest achievements was the family he cherished. Loving father of Dan (Joyce), Daphna (Paul) Ludwig, David (Nancy), and Ron (Missy). Cherished grandfather to Ila (Danny) Muller, Cayla, Rachel Ludwig (Daniel Barach), Brian, Tess Ludwig, Marni, Hannah (Caleb) Marx, Liv Ludwig, and Lindsey. Adored great-grandfather of Max and Sam Muller.Jay was a proud engineer, businessman and patent holder with an engineering degree from the University of Connecticut and master’s degrees in engineering and business from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He maintained a lifelong connection to the State of Israel and instilled in his family a deep appreciation for education, family and faith. Anyone who met Jay was instantly taken by his gentle soul and genuine kindness. He had a gift for making others feel special. His sweet nature, quick wit, and caring heart touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed. Memorial donations in his honor to Congregation Beth Shalom’s Janna Sugar Memorial Israel Scholarship Fund. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Dear Rabinowitz Family,

My deepest condolences to you on the passing of, “Izzy,” as we called him during our four years at the University of Connecticut and a brother of Phi Sigma Delta. He was one of my favorite classmates and a person who could be relied upon when you needed a true friend. We both loved classical music and our friendship lasted through the years via e-mails. The last time I saw Izzy was at our 50th Reunion in 2006. May he rest in peace.

Jay will be remembered as a gentle person who had the respect of all that knew him. My condolences to his wife and all of his family. We worked together at the scale company, golfed together when we both were still working. Monday breakfast club , and shule members. Jay was a mench.
