Lauren B. Shepard

Lauren B. Shepard (née Sandler), age 65, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025. Beloved wife and best friend of David for 38 wonderful years. Cherished mother “Ema” of Lori , Jeremy, and Robert (Marci). Devoted sister of Scott Sandler, Mitchell Sandler, and Sharon (Bill) Surna. Treasured aunt and friend to many. Lauren was a passionate special education teacher who dedicated herself to the well-being of her students. She was deeply involved in the school system and generously gave her time volunteering for countless events benefiting children. A devoted member of Congregation Or Shalom and the Sisterhood, Lauren continually deepened her faith through study and was committed to expanding her knowledge of the Hebrew language. She found joy in crocheting blankets and hats for loved ones, was an avid reader of mystery novels, and loved to travel-especially to Mackinac Island, the Wisconsin Dells, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and destinations around the world. Above all, Lauren’s greatest joy was her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others will be dearly missed.
