We loved having Sam and our son, Ian share their Bar Mitzvah date together. We were all good friends, and we were so proud of our sons up on the bimah together. We loved having long conversations , and I always will cherish our long talks and laughing around your kitchen table! Alex always was a good listener, and always had good advice. His great sense of humor was not lost on anyone, and he had an endless book of knowledge , which he was willing to share. Alex was a kind, caring and generous man who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.

For 40 years, Alex was my friend. He was supremely intelligent, generous, kind, and, of course, a person of rare humor. When we discovered a mutual love of the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons, we began addressing each other as Boris and Natasha and like that notorious pair, we were true comrades.
Alex’s first priority in life was always his family, Debbie (the best thing that ever happened to Alex), his children, and his grandchildren.
I will miss you, Boris, dahlink. Your passing leaves a hole in my heart.

I am beyond devastated by this. Alex was one of my dearest friends. Even though we didn’t see one another much these past many years, he was always close in my heart. Alex has to be the most generous person I ever knew. If you ever said you liked something he had, he would try and give it to you. There are not many people I have known longer – we met when we both lived in Albany Park where I accidentally shot him with a dart gun in their apartment. He met me at my parent’s house in the early morning hours of Sunday in late November of 1973 to take me to meet Jack Weiner to order an engagement ring. This is when the infamous “Alex likes your oriental rug” incident occurred.
So many good memories, too little time. His memory will be a blessing to everyone who had the good fortune to know him.
My heartfelt condolences to Debbie and all the extended family.
