Gerry Kopelman, 83, beloved husband of Barbara Kopelman, née Brenner, happily married for 56 years; loving father of Naomi Garvett, Rabbi Benjamin (Kim), Seth and Jonathan (Andrea) Kopelman; cherished Grandpa of Toby and Doug Garvett, Rayli, Naava, Coby, Shalva, Dovid, Menucha, Tzvi, Tehilla, Atara and Akiva Kopelman and Abigail, Jackson and Oliver Kopelman; dear brother of Rob Kopelman; treasured uncle, cousin and friend to many. Gerry was a kind, gentle, warm-hearted man who always looked on the bright side of life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry’s honor may be to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, www.ilholocaustmuseum.org or the Simon Wiesenthal Center, www.wiesenthal.org.
