Morton “Mort” Hibel, 87, beloved husband of Bonnie Hibel née Metz, happily married for 59 years; loving father of Andrew (Elizabeth) Hibel and Stacey (Ken) Traub; cherished Baba of Lanie and Bex Hibel, Eli, Lucy and Sydney Traub; Mort was preceded in death by his sister Shirley (the late Stanley) Schulman; he was a treasured uncle, cousin and friend to many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Beth El in Northbrook, www.templebeth-el.org or a charity of your choice. Chapel service Monday, October 20, 2025, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park. Bonnie I just found out Mort passed away. I want to send you and your family my deepest condolences. I know first-hand how devoted you were to him, and he was to you. I always enjoyed seeing him and you in our building. I know he’ll be missed and his memory will live on.
