Mrs. Silver was one of my first Sunday School teachers at Congregation B’nai Shalom in BG more than twenty years ago. While it’s difficult to remember specifics from back then, her endless positivity and passion for helping others learn about Judaism in accessible and engaging ways had a profound impact on how I view my faith today. May G-d comfort your family among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Cheri was always a sweet and caring person who always made an effort to keep in touch with the family. She was so positive and courageous. She made a huge contribution to others including her family, many friends and community. She even collected and updated ancestry information on family events before there were online businesses that did this work. Her life was a blessing and her goodness will be remembered and cherished by everyone who knew her. Love to her husband and immediate family.

Cheri and I taught for many years at Northwest Suburban Jewish Cong. She was the most amazing teacher. What a thrill to see her with the Kindergarten students.
May her memory be for a blessing.

I met Cheri In Haddasah thru mutual friends.
I always enjoyed seeing her and
we also had many luncheons together. I loved her famous Mandel bread she would bring. I will miss her kindness , her caring for people and friendship

Cheri was a charter member of the on-line chat that started out, almost 29,000 messages ago, as a Yahoogroup of former high school classmates. Over the years, we have congratulated one another on achievements, consoled one another on life setbacks, and enjoyed good-spirited laughter and conversation. We’ll miss you, Cheri!

I was born in 1955 and have known Cheri my entire life. . . her parents stood up at my parents’ wedding. Cheri used to baby sit for me and my sister. As I grew older, I lost track of her, until one day my mother saw her at the health club. I was new to Buffalo Grove, so Cheri invited me to a Hadassah meeting to meet her friends. After that day, Cheri and I were friends for life. At one point she taught me how to play RummyQ (AKA Rummy Cube). She started a weekly game, and we played with her friends (soon to be my friends) for years and years. Our group also goes out for dinner frequently and we celebrate each of our birthdays together. I know I will miss her terribly, but I take solace in having had her as such an important part of my life. I miss you, Cheri.
