I always thought it was so special that my Bat Mitzvah was on your birthday. Over the years I remember getting record albums from you after the radio station would transfer them to another format for playing over the air. Visits when my work travels would take me to Chicago, including one road trip from Minneapolis.
Rest well Uncle – you’ll be missed.
Love, Abbie

Family,
One of my favorite memories of Uncle Shel was the summer of 1985. I came to Chicago for a visit and Uncle Shel took Carrie and I to a Cubs game. We took the L to Wrigley Field and Uncle Shel told me the story of the train. Once we got to the field, I bought souvenirs, had a hot dog and just had the best time. If my memory is correct, I believe the Cubs won that day. I love you Uncle Shel, rest in piece.

I have fond memories of the days in Minneapolis. I especially remember Sheldon’s good nature and decency, as well as his incredible collection of humor LPs.
