We met Barry shortly after we moved onto Old Elm. He was taking one of his regular walks when I noticed he was wearing a Pirates hat. We got to talking about the Burg – it’s sports teams and that I also had been born and raised in Pittsburgh.
We just learned of his passing. May his memory be a blessing

Dear Anne and John,
It is with a heavy heart that I read the sad news this morning about your Dad. Barry and I go “way back” to when I spent my freshman year and sophomore years at the University of Pittsburgh. Then, I happily reconnected with Corky and Barry when Mort and I moved to Chicago in 1971. Many happy years with both your parents.
To you both, Mort and I send our deepest condolences,
Love, Myrna

Barry was my cousin. We both grew up in Pittsburgh. Not mentioned in his obituary was Barry’s love and interest in thoroughbred horse racing. An interest we shared. Over the years Barry and I frequented most of the racetracks in Chicago and Los Angeles. An afternoon at the racetrack with”Cousin Barry” was just a delight. A memory I will always cherish!

Barry was a lifelong friend and we had many happy times together through the years. Barry loved to reminisce about Pittsburgh places
even up to last week.. I will miss our weekly phone conversations.
