Obituary
A devoted husband of 62 wonderful years to Hannah, the love of his life – to her, he was and will always be “My Davey.”
David was the cherished son of the late Charles and Belle Kaplan and much-loved brother of the late Gary Kaplan.
He was a proud and adoring father of Marcy (Eric Gold) Kaplan Gold and Heidi (Barry Roth) Rubin, and a deeply loved “Papa” to Brandon (Jennifer) Rubin, Cameron (Claire) Rubin, Maya Rubin, Hadley and Gabrielle Gold. David was also an adored “Great-Papa and Papa D” to Asher Rubin, and a loving uncle to Rebecca (Eric) Guthman and Bianca Kaplan.
A self-made man whose life was rooted in devotion to his family, David was the president and co-founder, alongside Herbert and Louis Wolf, of American Automotive Parts, Inc. He built a successful career while never losing sight of what mattered most – his loved ones.
David lived a life filled with close friendships, deep family bonds, and unwavering loyalty. He was admired for his kindness, strength, and generosity, and he will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

We loved being with David and of course, with Hannah. Golf trips, dinners, golf and get togethers. He was funny, a loyal friend and loved his family to the nth degree. He will be dearly missed.
Love,

David and my Dad taking me my sister Susan Marcy and Heidi by limo to Atlantic City to see Frank Sinatra. Somehow we girls were sitting front and center at the show while David and my Dad went to play craps. Who else could get Frank to babysit ❤️

To Hannah,David and the children we spent many vacations together and I look forward to seeing you all when you get to Florida so I can hug you all. Remember our Thanksgiving in Palm Springs and the next one in Wayne,New Jersey and New York City going to theaters, restaurants, sightseeing with all our children. Golfing all over. I could go on and on. I hope David meets Larry in Heaven. I love yolu all. Love from my children Terri, Susan and Charles too..

David was one of a kind. So special in every way
He was strong and gentle. Generous and more generous to everyone who knew him. He was playful and just a fabulous man. If you knew him, you were a lucky person. Rest in peace, dear David. The world was a better place because of you. Much love always. Your memory will always be a blessing.

David was a wonderful, giving , loving friend and great to be with until he was ready to get up and leave and then he was “shpilke boy.” He loved his Hannie and his girls and grandchildren and the great grandchild. He loved golf, hot dogs and everything Hannah cooked for him.
May his memory be for a blessing.
