Burton “Burt” Mednick, 89, passed away on December 10, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Sandra (nee Libman) for 67 wonderful years; loving father of Ilene (Steven) Salkos, Lisa (Tyler) Baasch, and the late Neil Mednick; cherished “Poppa” of Adam and Jennifer Salkos, and Kira and Abby Baasch; much-loved brother of Beverly (Jack) Zussman; and treasured uncle and friend to many. A die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, Burt loved nothing more than watching baseball. He was a hardworking man with a good heart, and his greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandkids. A painter by trade, Burt found real peace and happiness in creating art-especially paint-by-number pieces. He also loved grabbing a bite at Portillo’s and meeting friends for coffee. He will be dearly missed, especially by his devoted fur companion, Trixie. Memorial donations in his honor can be made to American Kidney Fund, www.kidneyfund.org or Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org.
