Julie, Bob & family,
I truly loved Gibby. He was so kind, loving & welcoming. He was so handsome and always had a big smile on his face. When I saw him years ago, he still looked the same to me. I always smile when I think of the Roosevelt Group. I believe he was the last one to pass. I was always so excited when the group got together. They were so powerful as a group and incredibly imaginative & clever. I loved to sneak downstairs when the group was over and listen to them talk about different topics they were passionate about and I always heard them laughing out loud. They truly cared so much about each other and loved to get together. My memories are of being at your house running all over the back yard. I believe your house was the hosting party house for the group with children in tow (lol). In the later years I know my mom (Gloria) was the closest with your mom and Alice. They stood by her through good & bad. That meant so much to me. Coincidentally he was also friends with my in- laws. He worked in the same business on the south side as my FIL. Throughout the years they always stayed in touch. Maybe 7-10 years ago they met for dinner when my in-laws came in town. Gibby will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. It was an honor to know your dad (& mom). Sending our deepest condolences to you and your families.

Bob and Family,
Very sorry to hear about your dad. He was a wonderful guy and I still have great memories working with him years ago at the Salceda property. May he rest in peace and may all of you find peace with the wonderful memories he undoubtedly left you.

Sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Levin Family. I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Levin for many years while employed at Wolin-Levin during the 1980’s. He was great to work for; hard working, compassionate and insightful. Cared about his employees. What I appreciated the most about Mr. Levin was his clear devotion to his family. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Will never forget Uncle Gibby’s sparkling eyes and kindness. We shared many meals, along with Shellie and my mom, Lil, during which he charmed us and whoever was waiting on us. I am thankful to have had the honor of serving him his favorite side dish, grilled onions, at our holday celebrations. Thank you Uncle Gibby for everything you did for us – especially my mom. We are grateful. You are missed.

Gibbie was loved by his niece Andrea Schaffner, daughter of Gibbie’s sister Lillian. He helped his sister Lillian resettle in Chicago, gave her a job at his company, drove her to work every day, and looked after her. Andrea loved Uncle Gibbie, and I got to know and admire him. A wonderful person.

Gibby was always welcoming, with a “twinkle” in his eye. He made myself and our mom feel special and loved. I always enjoyed our holiday phone conversations as well. He was especially proud of his family and their accomplishments.
A life well lived! He will be missed. My sincere thoughts and prayers for the family and friends that were also so close. Love to all, Judy
