Obituary
He was born on July 17, 1934, to Jack and Celia (Weiner) Rowe in Chicago, Illinois. Maynard is survived by his sister, Blossom Weller; his children, Cyndee (John) Conway, Robert (Jill) Rowe, and Stephanie (Svebor) Smolic; along with his nine grandchildren, Britt (Steven) Cremer, Brendan and Cody Conway, Jack, Dylan, and Brady Rowe, and Max, Lexi, and Bella Smolic; and one great-grandchild, Luke Charles Cremer. He will be forever loved and remembered for his passion, humor, and generous spirit.
Maynard attended the University of Illinois for his undergraduate studies and went on to earn his law degree from DePaul University. He began his career as an attorney before joining the family business, Rowe and Sons, alongside his father, Jack, and brother, Ted, later transitioning into a successful career as a stockbroker.
A die-hard Bears fan, Maynard spent much of his free time on the golf course, watching movies that made him laugh contagiously, and enjoying the company of his family. Known for his kindness, humor, and ability to find happiness in life’s simple moments, his larger-than-life personality brought warmth and light to everyone around him.
Maynard shared 61 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Sharon, enjoying a life filled with travel, golf, dancing, and countless adventures together. Their love will live on through the many memories cherished by all who knew them.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maynard’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.

We have known Maynard for years. Our daughter, Jill married Rob Rowe and we and Maynard were blessed with three phenomenal handsome smart grandsons. Maynard was a good father and grandfather and will be missed by all of us. The many family gatherings over the years with Maynard and Sharon will be remembered forever.

Maynard’s mother, Celia, and my
father, Lou, were sister and brother.
We all lived together in the same neighborhood, East Lakeview.
Maynard and Ted often escorted me to the Lake Shore Theater on Broadway and Belmont Avenues., where I was introduced to scary movies that kept me awake at night.
I loved them dearly and still do to this very day.
